obviously traveling is not cheap, and when deciding where to spend money it can be difficult. one of my roommates told me that we need to spend money on experiences rather than materials because materials come and go but the things we experience stay with us forever. so with this new mindset on money, i've cut back my spending on things (obvi i'm still going to shop because i have no self-control when it comes to clothes) but i really think about whether i need it or if the money can be saved for something else. we have the mentality that we need so much more than we actually do. thinking back on some of my favorite experiences helps me when deciding if i really need another black long sleeve or pair of mom jeans that are "must haves".
so if you struggle like me with an addiction to spending money, think about all the cool things you could experience instead! i've compiled a list of my favorite things i've invested money into that i've done around the world that may inspire you to think before you swipe.
